How often should i turn my Kindle off?

I just recently got the Kindle for Christmas and was wondering if i should turn off the kindle if I’m going to use it 5 hours later or put it on sleep. And if im going to use it 12 hours later should i turn it off or put it on sleep? As well as if i should put it on sleep for both of the above options when should I turn it off?

The sleep mode takes virtually no battery life since it only uses battery power to change the pages. In fact, you’d probably lose more turning it on/off. I would power down if it was literally going to be days before you picked it back up again, but for overnight or just taking a break there’s no need. I don’t think mine’s been powered all the way down literally in months and its not having any problems. Just be sure that your wireless is turned off when you’re not using it so its not sucking the battery
