I just returned from a week and a half tour and I found I loved this cover! The ability to hold a pen and put papers in a pocket greatly simplified my life as I could put all the necessary tour documents in the folder pocket and didn't have to juggle multiple document holders. Is it a tad heavy?--perhaps, but I prefer the extra sturdiness. I also like the fact that you can latch it closed. I hold my kindle like a book in my lap, so don't have the issues some might who hold it in one hand, as this particular jacket may not work very well in that instance. Personally I felt holding it the way I did also provided a bit more privacy when reading on the plane.

The Kindle with this jacket fit nicely in a slightly larger purse that I carried with me at all times, as I never knew when I might wish to use my Kindle.

I gave this cover to my husband. It looks and feels of high quality and, while I love the Cole Haan version I have for my Kindle, the stiffer cover of this one is more practical.
It's a case. For the Kindle DX.

All in all, I have no complaints about this case. It holds my Kindle DX snugly, and protects it from dirt and damage. My only complaint (and it has nothing to do with this case) is that it was necessary for me to buy this case for my Kindle DX in the first place. Amazon should recognize that with its screen being as large and fragile as it is, the Kindle DX essentially requires a case. And because of that, they should include a case as standard equipment with every Kindle DX sold. And the case they include should be similar to this M-Edge case.

One common complaint about this case is that the latch/clasp mechanism is clumsy/hard to use. While this is true, a simple workaround is to just tuck the flap underneath your Kindle, and not bother with latching the case closed except when the situation actually calls for it. Works just fine for me. The case starts out a little stiff at first, but it softens nicely with use. I have no trouble folding the front cover behind the back when I am reading on it.

In the end, if you need a case for your Kindle DX (and if you've purchased a Kindle DX, then yes, you need a case for it), then this is a good case to get.

I ordered this case because it was a little more functional than the case offered by kindle, both are nice cases but this one has pockets for paper storage and a holder for a pen which can be used for taking notes. It can also be arranged as a type of easel so you can read with out holding the kindle in your hands.
Perfect companion for Kindle DX

New to Kindle, purchased the 9" DX Graphite version for my wife as a birthday present.
She loves the Kindle as well as this very nice, protective cover.
It is HQ, and has a slot for the corresponding reading light M-Edge makes.
The jacket is very sturdy and the front cover folds back nicely to allow easy reading.
Holds Kindle very securely, we never take it out.
Easy to charge while in this jacket. Very professional looking too, BTW.
Considered a lot of jackets and sleeves and my wife and I are very pleased we bought this one.
