Replace or supplement your Amazon 1st Generation Kindle battery with a spare. This high capacity, rechargeable, replacement battery is identical to the battery that came with your Kindle.

I hear the Kindle will actually read outloud – how loud is the speaker and how would that affect the life of the battery?

I’m thinking about buying a Kindle from Amazon. The pros are pretty clear: environmentally friendly, compact, and low price for new books. The Kindle 2 Headphones give you high quality sound, they fit comfortably in your ear. They're compatible with Kindle 2 any audio source with a 3.5 mm headphone jack.

I get Newsweek, Entertainment Weekly, The Economist, and Sports Illustrated, Esquire, seems like you could save a lot of trees if these just showed up on your Kindle, anyone heard how long until these are readily available?
